Founder & CEO at Manning Ventures

Behind 30 years of experience leading strategic transformations, mergers and acquisitions, and growth ventures, Patrick founded Manning Ventures I, an early stage venture capital fund. Manning Ventures helps ambitious and switched-on teams achieve their full potential across the nutrition tech, sports and wellness verticals.

Patrick’s career essentially began as an Olympic rowing medalist, where he developed a keen understanding for what it really means to be results oriented. Two weeks after the Barcelona Games, Patrick started at Harvard Business School and subsequently spent 19 years at Bain & Company, primarily in London. His focus at Bain was helping clients drive outsized outcomes in the consumer, retail, industrial and private equity sectors.

In 2019, Anglo American, the FTSE 10 diversified mining group, owner of De Beers and Bain client recruited Patrick to lead Group Strategy. Patrick worked closely with the CEO, top team, and Board to help devise and execute a major strategic, operational, and organizational turnaround that drove a 10x increase in share price. He was on the investment committee of Anglo Plats Ventures, which we spun out as a ~$200M+ venture fund.

Now, Manning Ventures is six investments in (2 nutrition, 2 wellness, 2 new sports media), two of which are incubations and all of which have all gotten off to an excitingly strong start.
